The Spiš museum

A true architectural jewel! The historical building of the former mediaeval town hall is decorated with six Rococo stucco cartouches depicting the desired virtues of a mayor. Slovak technical museum

The exhibition titled “the History of mining in the Spiš region” consists of the exhibits of the Slovak technical museum and is displayed in the Multifunctional mining and energetic centre in Spišská Nová Ves.

The Spiš theatre

The Spiš theatre stages plays of various genres for children, youth and adults in Slovak language. The repertoire includes unique dramatic pieces performed in Spiš dialect. Manor house Smižany

The manor house was built in 18th century and it served as a salt storehouse. Later, the building housed a school of agriculture, an elementary school and a kindergarten. After its renovation and a grand re-opening ceremony in April 2011, it fulfils its role as a cultural and edifying centre, managed by the Smižany cultural centre. Ethnographic museum

Find out how people worked with spinning-wheels, winding-frames or scutches and see how the traditional folk costumes are made in the Exposition of folk culture of central and lower Spiš. Stará hyža – old shack

Get familiar with everyday and religious aspects of traditional rural life. Old spinning-wheels, winding-frames, early 20th century furniture, clothes, kitchenware, tools – you will see it all! The exposition includes historical photos and postcards. Opening hours: Mon – Thu: 7:30 AM - 12:00 AM, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM, Fri: 7:30 AM - 12:00 AM. The centre of Dobšiná

The restored centre of the town of Dobšiná will amaze you with the Neo-Renaissance town hall built in 1870 and the old Gothic Evangelical church from 1480 featuring original Gothic wall paintings. You can end up the tour by visiting the Baroque-Classical Roman Catholic church dated 1792. The Betliar manor house

This hunting lodge is located in the midst of a beautiful English garden. Romantic buildings are surrounded by an artificial cave and a waterfall. This manor house is simply marvellous!
